Early Thoughts on the 2016 Presidential Election

It’s Donald Trump versus Hilary Clinton.  That is the election of 2016.  How I wish there was another option.  I believe both are the judgment of God for the United States.  Both are not conservatives.  Both are weak in many areas especially morality.  We have Trump in one corner with his womanizing and with his past of corruptions.  We have Clinton in the other corner with her lies and with her pro-murdering position on abortion (though Trump clams pro-life now, he has always been pro-murder on abortion and even now has made statements in support of Planned Parenthood).

One dear brother told me of the two he is most afraid of Hilary Clinton because the Rodham’s were once godly people who walked with Christ.  The Rodham’s came to America having been sent over here by John Wesley to spread the gospel.  In fact, Hilary Rodham claimed John Wesley as her favorite person from history until she was in college and turned liberal and made Saul Alinksy her senior thesis while attending Wellesley College.

Who is Saul Alinksy you ask?  He was a notorious radical from the 1960’s who wrote the book Rules for Radicals.  He has become the hero of the American left including both Clinton and Obama.  The #BlackLivesMatter also follows his “rules.”  Alinsky once said this:

ALINSKY: … if there is an afterlife, and I have anything to say about it, I will unreservedly choose to go to hell.
ALINSKY: Hell would be heaven for me. All my life I’ve been with the have-nots. Over here, if you’re a have-not, you’re short of dough. If you’re a have-not in hell, you’re short of virtue. Once I get into hell, I’ll start organizing the have-nots over there.
PLAYBOY: Why them?
ALINSKY: They’re my kind of people.

On June 12, 1972 Alinksy suffered a heart attack and met the God whom he hated.  He will not be leading an organization in hell.  He will be destroyed along with the devil in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).

In short, Hilary Rodham Clinton is a woman who once read the works of John Wesley and idolized him.  Whether she was ever born again, I don’t know but I do know that she knows her family history and she knows why they came to the United States and it was not to build a socialist state.  The Rodham’s came to preach the Lord Jesus to the lost souls here in the new world.  She is a woman who now hates Christianity whereas Trump is just ignorant of the gospel.

My prayer is that both Trump and Clinton would repent.  Both need the gospel.  I am praying for the rich family history of the Rodham family to awaken Hilary to the truth of the gospel.  I am praying for our leaders to repent of their wicked sins and their wicked views on many issues such as abortion, homosexuality, and that they would turn to Christ for His forgiveness.

So what will I do?  I am not a political guy.  I don’t write about politics much on this blog.  That said, I will likely either abstain from voting (which would be the first time for me since I was 18) or write in a vote.  Right now I am leaning toward writing in a vote.  I will not vote for Trump or Clinton even if that means giving the victory to Clinton (which polls point to).  I view both candidates as wicked so a wicked person will be in the White House yet again.  We are seeing the passive judgment of God as we read about in Romans 1.

The hope of the gospel is that Jesus will reign forever (Psalm 110:1).  The gospel will crush His enemies (Daniel 2:44).  I have the hope of the gospel in my soul (Romans 1:16-17) and nothing will stop the work of the gospel.  Neither a sinful President or a religious but lost Pope will stop the work of Christ.  Neither a wicked woman like Clinton or a wicked man like Trump will stop the gospel.  The gospel will go forth even if the United States turns to socialism and away from capitalism and the strong Protestant work ethic this nation was built upon.  The gospel will go forth just as it has in communist China and just as it has in Africa.  The promise of Acts 2 will not stop simply because a wicked person is in the White House.  The Lord will be glorified and sinners will repent even if the tide is turning toward wickedness with each new day here in the United States of America.

May God have mercy on the USA and send a revival and not merely here but in the entire world.  May the Lord Jesus be glorified through a revival that sees sound doctrine preached and lost souls repenting.

After Manasseh Came A Josiah

In 2 Kings 21:1-9 we read:

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah. 2 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the despicable practices of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. 3 For he rebuilt the high places that Hezekiah his father had destroyed, and he erected altars for Baal and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel had done, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. 4 And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem will I put my name.” 5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. 6 And he burned his son as an offering and used fortune-telling and omens and dealt with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger. 7 And the carved image of Asherah that he had made he set in the house of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever. 8 And I will not cause the feet of Israel to wander anymore out of the land that I gave to their fathers, if only they will be careful to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the Law that my servant Moses commanded them.” 9 But they did not listen, and Manasseh led them astray to do more evil than the nations had done whom the Lord destroyed before the people of Israel.

In our wicked world it is easy to look around at our wicked, sinful leaders and see the judgment of God.  I look around at my own culture and I see evidence of Romans 1.  People are full of sin.

However, my hope is in the Lord God and in His Word.  I have hope in the gospel.  I know that Jesus will triumph and He alone is King of kings and He alone is Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:15-16).  Jesus reigns even now from heaven (Acts 3:19-21).  His reign includes all His enemies coming under His feet (Psalm 110:1; 1 Corinthians 15:24-26).  I look around at the wicked world and I can easily be full of despair but my hope is that the gospel will go forth and the reign of Jesus will never be stopped.

In 2 Kings 21:1-9 we read of the wicked king of Judah, Manasseh.  I have yet to live under such a wicked king.  We have had wicked men and women in the past but few compare to the wickedness of Manasseh.  Manasseh went so far in his idolatry that he built altars in Jerusalem in the temple of Yahweh to his false gods.  He offered his own sons on the altars to his false gods.  2 Kings 21:16 says, “Moreover, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides the sin that he made Judah to sin so that they did what was evil in the sight of the LORD.”

After Manasseh, his son Amon reigned as king over Judah and he followed in the footsteps of Manasseh.  Amon was a wicked king.

After Amon, however, comes Josiah.  2 Kings 22:2 says, “And he what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in all the way of David his father, and he did not turn aside to the right or  to the left.”

The Lord raised up a Josiah after the wickedness of Manasseh and Amon.  This gives me hope.  This encourages me.

In my own wicked nation, I see our leaders full of sin.  They are full of idolatry, greed, corruption, they support the murdering of millions of babies at the altars of the gods of conveyance and sex.  Our leaders are just like Manasseh in many ways.  They even shed innocent blood not just in unjust wars and wicked attacks on citizens but they support the abortion mill industries which murder innocent babies each and every day.  In my own state and in my own city I see the wickedness of our leaders even on a local level.  They give in to the sexually perverted who want their “rights” and they support the wickedness of racism and abortion on demand.  Yes it is easy to be discouraged.

But I have hope that God can raise up a Josiah.  My hope is not in politicians.  They are corrupt.  My hope is not in men.  They are corrupt.  My hope is in the Lord God who can turn the tide through His gospel.  My hope is in the gospel (Romans 1:16-17).  Josiah was a mighty man of God.  We need mighty men of God to turn not just my own nation but he nations of this fallen, sinful world to the Lord God.  This will not come through politicians or through political reform (though they will happen through the gospel) but will only come through a man of God being faithful to God.

My hope is that the wicked nations of this world (which is all of them) will turn to the Lord Jesus Christ.  The gospel transformed the Roman Empire and turned them away from idolatry to the truth of the gospel.  Over time, corrupt church leaders corrupted the gospel and turned the church in Rome away from the gospel to idolatry that we now see as the Roman Catholic Church but I have hope that Catholics will repent and be saved.  I have hope that the nations will be saved by the grace of God.

We read in many places that the nations will bow down to the Lord God (see Psalm 22:27; 86:8-9; Isaiah 2:3; Revelation 15:4).  Jesus has conquered the nations by His death and resurrection and He now commands us to make disciples in every nation until He reigns forevermore (Matthew 28:18-20).

May God send a revival of His truth!

The Disciple’s Reaction to Cultural Issues

I have no doubt that the United States Supreme Court will rule in favor of same-sex marriage this week.  I would be utterly shocked if the high court ruled against the issue.  At the heart of the debate is Proposition 8 in which the measure was passed twice by the residents of the state  of California to define marriage as only between a man and a woman.  The Supreme Court will hear the case of whether this is unconstitutional.  If the Supreme Court rules against Proposition 8 they will in essence abolish state bans on same-sex marriage or will overturn the 31 states who have written into their state constitutions that marriage shall be between a man and a woman.  It would be a landmark win for the homosexual agenda and would almost overnight turn the United States into a nation that must permit same-sex marriage.

I believe the court will rule in favor of same-sex marriage for several reasons.  First, we are under the judgment of God and according to Romans 1, homosexuality is one of the evidences of this judgment.  How can God not judge the US with the millions of unborn that we have murdered?  We tolerate violence in popular culture and we give approval to all forms of ungodliness.  If you read Romans 1:18-32, you’ll no doubt know that we are there.  Our culture is full of sin.

Secondly, the rise of acceptance of homosexuality has been nothing more than staggering.  We have gone from the early 1990’s when homosexuality was tolerated but to be kept behind closed doors to full-blown acceptance and even viewing homosexuality as a better life style than heterosexuality.  Lots of things have contributed to this acceptance including Hollywood and secular media to postmodernism and the idea that there are no absolutes, no boundaries to cross.  Anything goes and YOU decide what is best for you but you must not push what is best for you upon others unless what is best is also deemed best by the culture.  In this case, homosexuality is deemed a good thing by culture and so culture wins.  The Supreme Court will listen to the culture and will ignore the Bible and thousands of years of civilization to establish a new “class.”

Thirdly, the failure of the Church to preach the gospel.  The seeker church led to the emergent church and in turn has produced nothing but liberalism all over again.  The true Church of Christ must stand and preach the gospel but the seeker church, with her eye on power and money, has produced nothing.  Therefore, we reap what we sow and thus we are now reaping 30 years of seeker church methods and teachings.  The result: sin accepted by the culture and by the compromising church.

What should true disciples of Christ do?  I believe the answer lies in being a true disciple of Jesus.  Titus 3:1-7 should be our text.  We read:

Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

We must recognize that our world is under the power of Satan (2 Corinthians 4:4).  Our battle is not with homosexuals or with liars or with thieves.  Our battle is with spiritual forces at work in our world to corrupt people and keep them from Christ (Ephesians 6:12).  Our enemy is not a certain group of sinners but is the father of lies himself (John 8:44).  The world lies under the control of the enemy and people blindly follow his commands.  By nature, all flesh is corrupt before God (Genesis 6:5) and we are children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3) apart from the grace of God (Ephesians 2:6).

Paul says in Titus 3:3 that we ourselves were once just as sinful as the people around us.  We are saved from sin only by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9).  We are not saved because we chose to stop sinning.  We are saved from sin and its power only by the power of the gospel (Romans 1:16).  In fact, Titus 3:4 reminds us that it was God our Savior who saved us by His own mercy.  We are now regenerated by the Spirit (John 3:3) because of the work of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30) and not by our flesh.  Sin is so powerful that it takes the supernatural power of God to break us and save us.

Is this not the sinful world around us?  Our world is so sinful, so corrupt.  Yet we too once were lost in this world.  If you are a disciple of Jesus you can testify that you once were bound in your sins and without hope.  You didn’t go seeking after Christ.  He came seeking after you (1 John 4:10).  It was the grace of God that intervened in our lives and this is why we are saved.

Our reaction then to this sinful culture should be to preach Christ.  Christ is the hope.  I don’t believe the answer lies in politics or in the Supreme Court or in the White House but in the gospel.  The cure for the United States (and all nations) is the gospel.  Our hope lies not in a leader or a group but in the gospel.  The Church must preach the gospel to all sinners and we will see the glory of God as He saves sinners by His grace.  Our battle is not with any one sin.  Our battle is against Satan and thankfully he is a defeated foe (Hebrews 2:14-15).  Let us preach this truth, that Jesus saves sinners and we will see a mighty revival in our world.

Post Election Thoughts from an Arminian

Much has been written already on the 2012 US elections.  Many godly men such as Dr. Al Mohler has pointed out that we are facing a dramatic culture shift in the United States.  President Obama won both the popular vote and the electoral vote despite claims by political conservative pundits that he would lose.  Some guaranteed Obama’s defeat (see Dick Morris for example).  I felt that Obama would win but thought he would lose the popular vote.  I was wrong on that as well.

What do we learn from the 2012 elections?

1.  True Christianity Is Losing the Culture War.

Some “Christian” such as Rachel Evans hold that we should realize that younger “evangelicals” just don’t care about abortion or about same-sex marriage and thus why they voted for Obama.  Christians have made the culture war their mandate for many years now but if we learn anything from the 2012 elections it would be that Christians are losing that battle.  Same-sex marriage was passed in the states of Maine and Maryland and likely Washington.  Minnesota rejected the idea (good for them).  The map is clear that in the North and the Northwest, Christianity has little to no bearing on the voters.  The South continues to support traditional marriage but it is a matter of time before that changes as well.

Our mandate as disciples of Jesus is not to transform our culture through politics.  Our fight is not abortion or same-sex marriage though I think we should vote righteously on these issues.  Our fight is for the gospel (Romans 1:16-17).  The gospel will transform our society.  You want people to have a biblical worldview?  Then preach the Bible as the inerrant and infallible Word of God and that Jesus alone saves.  This will transform our society from the inside out (Titus 3:1-7).  People are dead in their sins (Ephesians 2:1-3) so why should we not be surprised when they vote for their flesh and not for God?  We need to disciple our people to think biblically and to proclaim Jesus to the lost (Matthew 28:19-20).  This will transform our nation.

2.  Prayer Must Be A Focus!

The one positive that I see coming out of the 2012 elections would be the call to prayer.  I feared that if Romney won the election then disciples of Jesus would view that as a reason to sit back and relax but with Obama winning, I saw many people calling for prayer.  Good!  This should not take the election of one wicked man to force us to pray.  We should have been praying already.  Paul tells us in 1 Timothy 2:1-7 what to pray for and it is clear that we should be praying for the lost to be saved.  The true Church should pray for President Obama to repent of his sins and be saved (Acts 2:38).  We should pray for Obama to repent of his views on abortion and on same-sex marriage.  God can change Obama’s heart.

Jesus said in Luke 18:1 that we should always pray and not lose heart.  How many lost heart over the elections last nigh?  I did.  I was discouraged when I went to bed and woke up with a heavy heart.  But Jesus said that that should drive us to prayer.  Our faith in a sovereign God should lead us to pray for the United States to repent and for God to be glorified in His Church (Ephesians 3:20-21).

3.  Be Ready For a Fight Even Among “Christians”.

We will see a shift over the next four years.  The younger “evangelicals” who have been soaked in postmodernism, in the seeker church, will push for evangelicals to come “mainline” with the political views of our culture.  We will be asked to allow for same-sex marriage, to accept homosexuality as a legitimate lifestyle, and we will be asked to curb our focus on abortion.  We will be asked to move more toward the left on most issues.  The Republicans (and other “conservatives”) will move away from cultural issues toward more liberal views.  Obama, at the 2012 DNC, was cheered for defending abortion and for coming out in favor of same-sex marriage.  That view, an anti-God view, won last night.  It is clear that our nation agrees with Mr. Obama, that abortion should be allowed and that homosexuality is legitimate.  The Church should not.

We need to stand for what the Bible teaches.  Many younger evangelicals will ask us to reinterpret texts that are against abortion or against homosexuality.  When it comes to abortion, we will be asked to realize that we can never get rid of it but should seek to curb it.  This is the stance of many evangelicals who supported Obama.  They believe this is Obama’s view as well.  We will be asked to embrace same-sex marriages and this will happen because the media will ridicule the traditional view, popular media will give us movies, television programs, and books that support same-sex marriage as a positive and good thing, and many evangelicals will grow weary trying to fight the push to accept the sinful practice of homosexuality.  Many will simply give in and accept cultural norms without a fight.

4.  A Clear Division In the Church.

We will see a rise coming of more and more seeker sensitive, shallow churches.  Why?  Because as the cultural moves more and more to the left, so will the Church.  The Church will do this because they want to be popular, to draw crowds, and of course, make money.  To preach against abortion, against socialism, against homosexuality, against adultery, etc. will not draw crowds.  The words of 2 Timothy 4:3-4 will soon come to pass.  The Church will either embrace postmodernism or will suffer.  I pray that we will heed the words of 2 Timothy 3:12 and suffer for Christ.

On a positive note, the house church movement will grow!  Many churches, to keep their budgets and to keep their buildings, will embrace postmodern Christianity but the true disciples of Jesus, the true Church will stand firm for the Lord (Matthew 24:13).  House churches will grow because they do not require buildings or monies.  Like the underground Church in China, the house churches in the United States will see growth over the years to come.  We can rejoice in that.

May God separate the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:31-46).

5.  We Must Preach Salvation Through Christ Alone!

Postmodernism will ask the Church to reject the inclusive nature of the gospel but we must stand firm (Romans 10:14-17).  Faith comes by hearing the gospel.  We must preach the truth to people who will hate us for preaching the gospel.  Have no fear.  Even if they kill us, let us stand firm (Matthew 5:11-16).  Jesus didn’t say the world would love us but rather they would hate us (John 15:18-25).  Peter makes it clear in 1 Peter 4:12-19 that we will suffer for being disciples of Christ.  There is no escaping the coming persecution.  The truth has never been popular.  We will be ridiculed for our stand for biblical marriage (Matthew 19:4-6), for our stand that homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27), for preaching that salvation is in Christ alone.  We will be told to accept what culture defines as norm.  May we resist!  May we stand for the Word of God even when we are laughed at for doing so.

Salvation will never come through politicians.  Transformation of our culture will not come through politics or by corrupting the gospel.  True salvation will only come through making disciples (Mark 16:15-16).  We must preach Christ alone.  We must stand for Christ alone.  We must preach His Word alone.  We must not give in to the culture for to do so will mean the loss of eternal salvation through Christ.  We must preach Jesus.  We must declare to all people to repent of their sins (Acts 17:30-31).  We must lay out the biblical demands of Jesus to follow Him (Luke 9:23-25; 14:25-35) and not water down the gospel for easy decisions.  We must allow the Holy Spirit to do His sovereign work of regeneration (Titus 3:5-7).  Salvation is from the Lord (Jonah 2:9) and He will save sinners as the disciples of Jesus preach His truth but we must open up our mouths and preach Him in order for souls to be saved.

Quick Thoughts on Election 2012

I will post a longer piece possibly tomorrow on my thoughts on Election 2012 but for now let me say some quick words.

First, I actually wrote a “political” piece that I was going to post before the election in which I called the election for Obama.  I saw so many holes in the Romney campaign and felt he would not win the electoral college votes needed to win the Presidency.  I actually wrote that I believed the race would be close but Obama would win.  On what basis he wins is beyond me.  No President with this unemployment rate has ever won re-election but Obama did.  Obama has been the most liberal, anti-God, anti-morality President we have ever witnessed.  He has sent more money to liberal programs such as abortion clinics and he has increased the size of the federal government not to mention the fact that he has taken the US into more economic debt than ever seen before but nonetheless he won the elections.  This is the judgment of God against our wicked nation.  I am firmly convinced of that.

Secondly, it is clear that the United States needs the gospel.  When a large percentage of evangelicals are found voting for Obama, something is wrong.  I didn’t think Romney was the best choice for President but felt he represented values that the Church should ascribe to much more so than Obama yet a large amount of “Christians” voted for Obama.  Stop and consider the fact that Obama is pro-homosexual marriage, pro-murdering the unborn, and he is anti-God in many of his policies.  Yet he won.  This shows me that the US needs the gospel.  We don’t need a political revival.  We need a move of the Spirit.  We are so far from God as a nation.

Thirdly, we are still a deeply divided nation.  It appears that same-sex marriages will now be allowed in four more states: Maryland, Washington, Maine, and in DC (though DC is not a state).  This is very troubling.  It shows that we are still a divided nation.  The South almost all voted for Romney and in the past have voted for the protection of marriage.  We are seeing a nation that is still divided on moral issues much like we were in 1860 with the election of Lincoln and the main issue was states’ rights and slavery.  Today the battle is traditional marriages and whether we will cast aside thousands of years of tradition for sin.  I pray that God will turn the tide by saving many homosexuals (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

Lastly, the Church needs to pray.  We need to pray for our Government and for them to be saved (1 Timothy 2:1-6).  We need to pray for Obama to repent.  We need to pray for God to pour out His Spirit upon our nation so that our nation repents (Acts 3:19-20).  We need to pray for the gospel to go forth in power in our nation to bring sinners to Christ (Mark 16:15).  We need to pray for the Church to repent of not preaching the gospel and for the Church to rise up and cast off entertainment in favor of honoring God and His eternal kingdom that will never end (Daniel 2:44).

Do You Want God Back in America Again?

“We need to vote God back into America again.”  “We need to put God back in His rightful place in our nation.”

These are quotes directly from people on Facebook about “the most important election in our life time.”  People are crying out to God to remove President Obama and for Him to restore His glory by placing His man in the White House.

I have many issues with such a view.

First, if you really want God back in America, it will not begin in the White House or any other political office.  It begins with preaching the gospel!  You want to turn American away from sin, from immorality, from the just wrath of God against our wicked nation (Romans 1:18-32) then it begins with the cross of Christ (Romans 1:16-17).  My advice for turning America to God is to preach Him, to glorify Him, to exalt Him, to preach His Word, to preach His salvation.  It doesn’t begin with elections but with preaching the God who elects.  If we will preach Christ and stop preaching for entertainment, we will see a transformation in America as people repent of their sins (Acts 3:19-20, 26).

Secondly, if you really want God back in America, we must have a mighty move of repentance.  It will not come from elected officials.  It will not come from legislation.  God will be glorified when the Church repents of playing games with the gospel and not being diligent in making disciples (Matthew 28:19-20).  Our national sins of abortion, of racism, of homosexuality, of adultery, of lying, of greed, of covetousness, etc. all flow from our rebellious, hard hearts that are against God.  We don’t love God. We despise Him (Romans 3:10-18).  We don’t want Jesus to rule over us (1 Samuel 8:7-9).  Apart from the gospel, we are all God-haters and would gladly kill Him if He was here.  It is the only the gospel that sets us from being God-haters to being slaves of Christ (John 6:44).  God must save sinners through the preaching of the gospel in order for our nation to turn and the Church must get back to this basic truth: preach the Word (2 Timothy 4:2).

Third, while it is true that God does give nations over to their sins, He has never forsaken His faithful disciples (Hebrews 13:5).  He never will.  God has never “left” America or any other nation.  He allows them to dive into sin but He is sovereign over the nations and He will reign over the nations forever.  Consider Psalm 2:1-9:

Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”

He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”

I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Does God seemed worried about the nations?  Not in the least bit.  Is God worried about who will be elected President of the United States or who is on the throne in China or any other nation?  Not at all.  In fact, Psalm 2:4 says that He scoffs the nations.  God is laughing at the nations and scoffing them!  He is not worried about being voted out of office at all.

Know this disciple of Jesus: The LORD reigns and He will reign forever more!  We need not fear.
