Meeting John MacArthur and Steve Lawson

This week I will attend a short Bible conference here in my city that will feature Dr. John MacArthur and Dr. Steve Lawson.  I have great admiration for these two brothers.  Both are men of God who faithfully preach the gospel of our Savior.  I do disagree with aspects of their Calvinistic theology but this does not mean that I don’t respect these dear brothers for their faithfulness to Jesus nor do I allow our theological differences to rob me of sitting and hearing them preach.  I hope to take pictures with the brothers and post there here.  I will also post a review of the conference later in the week.

Preaching the Gospel to the De-Churched

Until recently I had not heard of Matt Chandler but after hearing him speak at a seeker church where he laid out the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have become a fan.  Chandler is Reformed but a solid brother in my estimation.  He upholds the gospel of God’s grace, holiness, and he passionately preaches on the authority and inerrancy of the Bible.  Despite my disagreements with some aspects of his Calvinistic views, I believe we need more passionate brothers like Matt.

Here is a sermon he preached at John Piper’s conference that was well put.  His sermon was entitled, Preaching the Gospel to the De-Churched.  A great word that we need to hear whether Arminians or Calvinists.

You’ll find the sermon here.
