Poor Open Air Preaching

This video is a demonstration, in my estimation, of poor open air preaching.  My advice when preaching the gospel whether in the open air or anywhere else, preach Christ.  Exalt Him.  Preach against sin but preach Christ.  Your passion should be to glorify Christ and to exalt Him and to bring honor to Him.  No doubt some will hate us for the name of Christ and many will despise the truth of the gospel, that God saves sinners by His grace through faith.  But our passion should not be to make others mad, to provoke them to hatred, to make them angry by being angry at them.  Preach Christ.  He is faithful to save (1 Corinthians 1:21).

    • You know I like Kerrigan and Jesse. I don’t always approve of their style but I know Jesse has said he does not seek arguments with people. Thankfully God knows all our hearts.

      • i have seen some of their videos and have had mixed opinions. kerrigan seems to be a bit more balanced in his approach, but I appreciate the directness of jesse and can understand that much of his ‘more harsh’ approach can be chalked up to getting a hearing for the Gospel in the Midst of the Enemy Camp.
thanks for the response and the post again.

      • I have had a few e-mail interactions with both Kerrigan and Jesse but that is all. I have seen their YouTube stuff. Some of it is good and other times I fear that they seem angry and mean spirited toward Calvinists. They believe Calvinism is a great danger to the Church. Okay. But I would not want to come across as angry but instead pleading with a broken heart for the truth. Yet I will say that their boldness is incredible. I pray for godly boldness!

      • thanks for the response brother. at the risk of sounding ingratiating, i think you show a lot of balance in your approach. blessings

  2. That video makes me sick. I wish people wouldn’t preach at all if they aren’t going to preach the gospel.
